Snapshots | A Mini Video of Seoul

Up until we left for Seoul over Valentine’s Day, I had been doing so well about keeping up with blogging. I even blogged while on the road! I was finally going to tackle one of the many backlogged travel posts that I have been meaning to get to for ages! And then, I don’t know what happened. I lost steam, lost interest, lost I don’t know what. The more days that passed, the less I felt like blogging. Maybe it was the weather (although I enjoy the winter months), maybe it was that everyone around me seemed to be in a total funk, or maybe I just needed a break.

Today, as I went through and backed up the photos and videos on my phone taken over the past four months or so, I discovered this little movie I made using the 1 Second Everyday app. I first downloaded the app over two years ago (I cannot believe it has been that long already) when we first moved to Korea and did a fairly decent job of recording our first year in one second clips, even if a bulk of those clips were videos of our kitties. Exporting the video was another story. Every time I tried, my phone crashed. I gave up on downloading my compiled video and subsequently gave up on using the app.

During our trip to Seoul last February, I dusted off the 1SE app and decided to give it a second chance. The new and improved app now had features that didn’t exist a couple years ago and I was curious to see how successful it would be in documenting our trip. While not perfect, I loved creating and having a tiny Cliff Note’s version of a home video, because realistically speaking, it will probably be decades before I ever get around to editing the full video clips into something that resembles a movie.

Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed by the amount of photos and video I take when we travel that I never get around to editing photos and writing down our stories. Maybe the answer is just to simplify things for myself and post mini videos and unedited photos though something tells me that I would never be fully satisfied with the end result. Oh well, baby steps. For now, this will have to do.

More Seoul to come…

Thanks! I think I’ll (try) to keep making mini videos of our travels from now on…
