KITTIES

my little guy

max

It’s no secret: I’m a crazy cat lady. It’s hard not to be when Max makes it so easy to love him. He follows me everywhere, chirping when he can’t find me or doesn’t know where I am. He doesn’t mind the long, late hours I spend in front of the computer — he will either come and sit in my lap or sit in his cat tree house and patiently wait until I’m finished. He’s both a child and a buddy, and we are pretty obsessed with this fuzzy ball of personality.

Many people like to tell us we are substituting Max for some secret desire to have kids.

I just think we are really crazy cat people.

Beautiful blog and gorgeous photos! I especially love the Assateague pics – Larry and I have been trying to plan a weekend getaway there for a few years (I haven’t been since I was a kid) and all the horse pics make me want to go ASAP.

So glad to have found you and thanks so much for stopping by my booth yesterday! We are nature lovers, too and even though I grew up in the area, I’m always looking for local-ish hikes that are off the beaten path. We’d love to get into camping, too, but right now our idea of roughing it is more “sleep in the comfort of an RV”!

Thanks! I’m glad to have found a fellow outdoorsy/artsy person as well!

Assateague is a pretty amazing place, although I can’t warn enough about the mosquitoes! It seems like the government sunk a lot of money into it recently, so the facilities, while rustic, are new and well-maintained.

We love backpacking, but hope to one day own a trailer or campervan of our own. If you want a great compromise, you should check our First Landing State Park — even when we camped there, we had electric hookups and water at our site, so it felt like we were somehow cheating. We also recently discovered the PATC cabins that are available for rent — most are rustic and require hiking in, but at least you don’t need to carry so much gear!
