day of nothing

IMG_3621The fog finally rolled in, ending the 4-day heat wave in the city. I’m more comfortable with the fog than the heat here. I’m glad for it. Sometimes it sucks having a rare, warm, beach day, and not having your significant other to enjoy it with. Yes, I could have gone alone, but I lack motivation. Instead, I spent all day watching movies, mainly because I discovered one of those automated dvd machines at the grocery store where you can rent new releases for $1.49. In the heat of the moment (because I feared there were people impatiently waiting behind me, huffing and puffing as I would do), I chose 2 movies I did not necessarily want–Blonde and Blonder (I mistook this for being the Jessica Simpson movie, Blonde Ambition, which, I guess is not a whole lot better), and this movie Gymnast, which I had believed was going to be something like the movie Stick It, but actually turns out to be a lesbian love story.

Other movies watched/rented:
27 Dresses — painfully stupid.
Once — surprisingly great.
August Rush — horrendous, but I can only watch/rent these movies when the boy is not around, although I did make him watch P.S. I Love you, which he kind of liked.

Speaking of the boy, we did something uncharacteristic (at least for me) last weekend: we went house browsing in Alameda.

And speaking of uncharacteristic, I finally said those 3 little words after having a dream where NG died. It wasn’t as hard or weird as I thought it was going to be. In fact, it was suprisingly very easy
