The Beasts are loose!

We made an executive decision to finally release the beasts into the house at the same time and let them sort it out. They are at the point where they are well-aware of the other (they go to the other’s ‘room’ to claw on the door when the other is locked inside). Pandora/Pet Cemetery was doing great for a while, but then it was her turn to be sequestered and went ape shit again.

Since P is still hissing like crazy and taking out her agression on stuffed animals (if she sees a stuffed animal when shes pissed, she’ll full on attack it), we figured, well, might as well let them deal with it head-on.

First night (last night) was interesting. Pandora, as expected, was going ballistic. Yet what I don’t understand is–if she hates Sabine so much, why does she keep coming out into the area where Sabine is and actively search for her? Sabine is pretty calm through the whole thing. She spent the first few hrs hiding under the couch, and then curiousity got the better of her and she came out and sat on the window ledge.

Pandora essentially held Sabine hostage on the ledge overnight. Sabine stayed there the entire night, not coming into her room to sleep, eat, drink, or potty. This morning, I picked her up off her ledge and put her back in her room so she could refresh. But rather than hide in her room…she came right back out and resumed her position.

Pandora has been schizo–sometimes she’ll go nuts and run into her room, hide, and pout. Then she’ll run back out and find sabine and make all kinds of noise.

This morning, however, while on the computer, both cats were in the same room (kitchen) staring at each other from opposite corners. Both were relatively calm and allowed me to pet them, even purring while I did so. But they did not really interact (either positively or negatively).

I don’t understand them. If they don’t like each other, why are they putting themselves in a show-down position? It could be a territorial thing, but they still have their separate rooms/food/litter. It is kind of funny to watch. At this point, Im just hoping for some cat peace. If they can just live in the same space, then fine. I dont care if they cuddle with each other every night.

As I type this, the letter sequence for the spambot deal below is “meboofa”. Just struck me as funny. I’m gonna try to use it in a sentence tomorrow at work.

Hope Sabine hasn’t eaten Pandora yet.

    Keeping good thoughts…
