A break from Costa Rica entries

Nothing much has been going on – I don’t have the luxury of updating at work like the old days, since my new office space is a open and my boss sits right next to me. But nothing really of note in normal day-to-day life.

*C and I went to Yosemite for Memorial Day weekend. I have some stories, but in short, it was both annoying and great at the same time.

*Finally cut my hair. It had been annoying me for way too long. Plus, with summer, and me getting back into swimming, etc, i just don’t want to mess with long hair. Still…its pretty short. Shorter than its been for a really long time, anyway.

*was at the library the other day during lunch. i was kind of in a hurry to get back to work, and was looking through the stacks for a book in particular. I was getting annoyed bc they are in the process of shifting books, so nothing was where it was supposed to be. At any rate, as I looked for the book in question, this guy came up to me, all smiley and nervous and said “hi.” I was kind of confused (more confused as to why he was smiling so much), but said hello back. He stood a bit too close to me, so i moved past him and went down the next aisle. He, of course followed. “You live in the city?” I said I did. “I live in the Easy Bay.” Um. ok. At this point, i was beginning to think that I must have somehow accidentally made eye contact, or given him the impression that i want to talk to him. But I had/have never seen this guy before in my entire life. Again, he filled the silence with more small talk – small talk that started to frustrate me bc I really did want to find that book and I really did need to get back to work. Finally, when he sensed I was about to leave, he said, “Can I get your number, I can give you a call some time.” Immediately, I responded, “I have a boyfriend.” “Email then?” “Um. I still have a boyfriend.” Then I said something like I gotta go, and that was that. I guess normal guys don’t hang out at the library, huh?
